![]() I don't know why they've done this mode thing or even have two sets of control panels (normally, I'd think the Audio Control Panel should be enough, but there's a few features I don't know how to access other than through the Console Launcher). ![]() ![]() Note that enabling bit-matched playback automatically disables a lot of the "enhancements", like the Crystalizer, EAX presets, and even the equalizer. There are other features as well, but those two are the big ones to be concerned about while gaming.Įntertainment Mode: I don't use this mode, but it has a lot of the X-Fi "enhancements" available.Īudio Creation Mode: The recommended mode for music playback (NOT Entertainment Mode, shockingly enough), because ASIO and bit-matched playback are only available in this mode, making it the most uncolored and pure. Supports CMSS-3D Headphone for binaural surround. Game Mode: Needed for EAX 5 support (and proper EAX 3/4 rather than emulated in OpenAL don't confuse these with the EAX presets for given rooms that add reverb/chorus effects to all audio output).
